Psychiatric disorders can be devided into 2 types ↓
- organic: related to organ
- functional: no obvious pathology or anatomical change in organ
1.organic
Dementia ディメンシャ:痴呆 is a mental disorder due to organic brain disease.
senile dementia シィナイル: dementia associated with old age

obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- obsessive – can’t stop thinking, so persistent
- compulsive – can’t stop doing even though they recognize it’s unnecessary
- ex. compulsive washing hands, compulsive hoarding
【stress-related disorders】
stress – feeling of being unable to cope, lead to anxiety
- panic attack – a sudden attack of anxiety
